
Carolyn was born in Manchester and studied at the Royal Northern College of Music. She joined the Scottish Opera Chorus in 1995 and three years later went on to pursue a freelance career.
Carolyn has participated in projects for European Voices and Sir Simon Rattle including Wonderful Town (Berlin), Brahms’ Requiem (Cologne), Peter Grimes, Idomeneo, and Simon Boccanegra with Claudio Abbado (Salzburg Festival). She has also performed in Tannhauser for Opera National de Lorraine, and in Macbeth for Scottish Opera (at the Vienna Festival). In the UK, she has worked for several major companies and festivals including Buxton, Garsington and Opera North.
In 2011, Carolyn joined the WNO Chorus. Her personal highlights include playing Mr Mole in The Cunning Little Vixen and Churchill in Rhondda Rips It Up!, as well as touring to Oman, Finland and Dubai.
