Meet WNO

Christopher Augustine

Sub-Principal Trombone

Christopher has a BMus from Goldsmiths College, a MMus from Trinity Laban Conservatoire and spent a Postgraduate year at the Royal Academy of Music.

Prior to joining WNO, Christopher freelanced with many of the London orchestras including London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and Chineke! Orchestra. He has trialled for positions in both the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the BBC Concert Orchestra, and in London’s West End has worked on Wicked, Matilda, The Lion King and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. Christopher was also a member of the Foyle’s Future Firsts programme with the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

Christopher’s personal highlight with WNO was during his trial with WNO in Dubai on 1 March 2017 (St. David’s Day): 'The chorus sang the Welsh National Anthem. I have never ever in my entire life heard a sound like that. They sounded incredible - a moment I’ll never forget.'

Away from WNO, Christopher is a keen CrossFit athlete and also loves musicals.
