Toks Dada is a Creative Programmer and Producer, committed to engaging new audiences, and attracting more young people to classical music. He is currently Classical Programme Manager at Town Hall Symphony Hall in Birmingham, previously producing Symphony Hall’s Inside Out Festival 2017 and 2018 – a free festival of ‘unexpected sounds in unexpected spaces’. Toks is also a Board Director of Anthem (a music fund supporting young people in Wales), an Advisor at PRS for Music Foundation, and a 2020 Fellow of the International Society of Performing Arts.
In 2010 Toks founded Sinfonia Newydd to commission and produce new work by established and emerging professional composers within cross-artform projects, and was the CEO and Artistic Director until 2015. He has also been a Board Director of Sinfonia Cymru, Executive Chair of REPCo (a student arts enterprise initiative), and a participant on the Association of British Orchestras’ ‘Find Your Way’ programme for senior and emerging leaders. Toks has spoken at multiple conferences on the topics of diversity and the engagement of young people, and has advocated for increased diversity in articles published by Classical Music Magazine and BBC Proms Guide. He is a graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.
