Due to ever-changing circumstances surrounding the current pandemic Welsh National Opera have made some changes to our Spring 2021 Season, as recently announced by our General Director, Aidan Lang.
Welsh National Opera hope to return to the stage with the humorous The Barber of Seville, the vengeful Il trovatore and Play Opera LIVE, an energetic concert version of our family friendly online series.
Through a series of comical events and deception Figaro takes on the role of matchmaker. Rossini’s witty tale of love, lust and trickery, The Barber of Seville will be conducted by WNO Music Director, Tomáš Hanus.
A love triangle becomes a tangled web of deceit leading to sacrifice, jealousy and murder in Verdi’s Il trovatore. Featuring a rousing score that includes the instantly recognisable Anvil Chorus, Mary Elizabeth Williams returns to WNO as Leonora in WNO’s timeless production.
Tour schedule and performance times to be confirmed. If you are an existing ticket holder for our Spring Season, including for the postponed productions of Der Rosenkavalier and Faust, your venue will be in touch in due course to discuss ticket exchanges or refunds.
