WNO will break hearts night after night in Spring 2022 with a trio of captivating operas.

The Season opens with John Caird’s classic production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni. Set during the Spanish Golden Age, opera’s ultimate seducer is back and behaving very badly. Watch as his hedonistic lifestyle catches up with him and he is forced to face the ultimate punishment. Andrei Kymach and Duncan Rock will share the title role; Marina Monzo (WNO Rigoletto) and Linda Richardson (WNO La traviata) share the role of Donna Anna with Simon Bailey (WNO War & Peace) as Leporello, the Don’s confidante.

We then present our rescheduled production of Jenůfa, which is part of WNO’s Janáček Series. Tomáš Hanus will conduct Katie Mitchell’s heart-wrenching story of hope, love and despair. Elizabeth Llewellyn makes her Company debut in the lead role, and Eliška Weissová will sing the role of Kostelnička Buryjovka.

WNO’s new production of Madam Butterfly will also feature in the Season, with a limited number of performances in Cardiff, in case you missed it during our Autumn Season at Wales Millennium Centre.
