The current estimate on the number of victims of modern slavery in the UK is around 13,000 and on a global scale this exceeds 40 million. This talk will cover slavery on our doorstep, stories from a survivor of human trafficking who is now an award winning poet (Eric Ngalle Charles), and information on work being done to support victims locally and on a global scale.
Confirmed speakers include: Eric Ngalle Charles (an award winning poet and playwright who fell victim to human trafficking), Steve Kenzie (Executive Director of the United Nations Global Compact in the UK/IRE), Angelina Rodriques (decades of experience working in victim support), Kerry Wade (Gwent Missing Persons team), and Molly Wingate (Cardiff University Student, Representative of People & Planet, and Student Action for Refugees – STAR.
