Costume and Prop Sale: Terms & Conditions

1. About the Items

All items for sale are used costumes and theatrical props previously used in professional stage productions by Welsh National Opera. Items are not new and may show signs of wear, alteration, or repair consistent with theatrical use.

2. Condition / Sold as Seen

  • All items are sold as seen and inspected at the point of sale. 
  • Customers are encouraged to check items carefully before purchase. 
  • Costumes and props may include alterations, repairs, or wear from stage use.

3. Dyeing, Treatments & Allergies

  • Some costumes may have been dyed, painted, treated, or finished for stage use. 
  • Materials used may not meet standard retail garment specifications and may not be suitable for sensitive skin. 
  • Customers with allergies or sensitivities purchase items at their own risk.

4. Props & Furniture Disclaimer

  • All props and furniture are sold as theatrical items only and are not toys
  • These items are neither designed or manufactured for domestic or commercial use. 
  • Props may not comply with modern safety standards for domestic or child use. 
  • Any use of props after purchase is at the buyer’s own risk.

5. Returns & Refunds

  • No refunds, exchanges, or returns are offered for change of mind. 
  • This does not affect your statutory rights if an item is misdescribed at the point of sale, in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

6. Pricing & Payment

  • All prices are as marked at the time of sale. 
  • Items must be paid for in full before being taken away. 

7. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Welsh National Opera accepts no liability for:

  • Allergic reactions 
  • Injury or damage arising from use, alteration, or misuse of items after purchase 
  • Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
