What’s on

Welsh National Opera’s 2023/2024 Season promises to be a WNODERFUL year of opera

During our Autumn 2023 Season, experience a spine-tingling display of opera and flamenco in a twice-Grammy winning work. Ainadamar (The Fountain of Tears) is a spine-tingling spectacle which reimagines the life and legacy of Spanish poet and playwright Federico García Lorca, directed by Olivier-winning choreographer, Deborah Colker. Enjoy Sir David McVicar’s celebrated staging of Verdi’s much-loved classic tale of thwarted love, scandal, and self-sacrifice - La traviata. Complementing the Season, join us on a musical voyage with a space-themed edition of our interactive family show, Play Opera LIVE!

Our Spring 2024 sees us go back to school with a brand-new production of Mozart’s Così fan tutte, where four sixth formers receive a valuable lesson in love, life, and liberty. Witness ravishing beauty, the grotesque, and the sublime in our brand-new production of Britten’s Death in Venice. Completing the Season is an Opera Favourites concert – your ultimate operatic pick-and-mix.

Rounding off our operatic year in Summer 2024 is Puccini’s triptych of one-act operas, Il trittico which is a smorgasbord of high emotions.
