WNO member events

As a valued WNO Friend or Patron you have access to exclusive behind-the-scenes events.

You have the opportunity to glimpse into rehearsals, chances to meet the WNO team, backstage tours and more. Below are the current events available to book and more will be added through the year so keep checking back.

Due to limited availability members are eligible for a maximum of two tickets unless otherwise stated on the event listing.

Dress rehearsals

Open to all Members - Friends, Patrons and General Directors' Circle

Wednesday 10 September – Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff
Tosca 4pm

Saturday 13 September – Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff 
Candide 2pm

Dress rehearsals are free to attend for members who have purchased tickets to the production in the same Season.

Tickets for the dress rehearsals will be available to collect from a member of the Development team in the main foyer from 30 minutes prior to the start of the rehearsal. A reminder will be sent out closer to the time, but please contact the Development office should you have any questions.


Stage Orchestra Rehearsals

Open to all Members - Friends, Patrons and General Directors' Circle

Monday 8 September – Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff
Tosca
2pm - 5pm

Tickets: £15

Witness some of our stage rehearsals with orchestra and gain an insight into the level of detail undertaken by both conductor and director in the preparation prior to opening night. This rehearsal will focus on a section of the production rather than a full run through. 

Please meet at the north end of the main foyer (Ffwrnais) at Wales Millennium Centre 15 minutes prior to the advertised start time,  where you will be met by a member of the Development team.

Members' coffee mornings

Join us for tea, coffee and cake and an insight into the unique world of surtitling for an opera company with the Company’s Surtitle Operator, Daniel Aguirre-Evans. 


Meet the archivists and librarian

Open to all Members - Friends, Patrons and General Directors' Circle 

Tuesday 23 September, 25 November – Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff
10am - 12.30pm

Enjoy a morning in the company of WNO's two volunteer archivists - John Richardson and Ian Douglas and the company’s Senior Music Librarian, Georgina Govier.  Hear about the work of our archive and music library, while looking around our in-house set up in a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of time to ask questions and share knowledge. This is only available for a maximum of four people.

Associate Artist Masterclass: with Rebecca Evans

Thursday 6 November, 7pm - Norwegian Church Arts Centre, Cardiff Bay.

Running time approximately 90 minutes with one interval.

Tickets: £10.00 per head (maximum of one guest per member) 

Join WNO Associate Artists Owain Rowlands and Ross Fettes for an exclusive members-only insight into the preparation required for our talented singers. Observe our singers as they are guided through a masterclass by internationally renowned Welsh soprano, and ambassador for our Associate Artists' scheme, Rebecca Evans.
