Admire the handiwork of our dedicated costume team as you look at outfits from Così fan tutte, The Magic Flute, and Don Giovanni. Imagine yourself performing onstage – would you play the part of Donna Elvira, wearing a luxurious velvet dress, or might you be Papageno, a wild bird man in a jacket made of orange feathers?
Create your own props
Do you have a child who loves art and crafts? Bring them along, and they can get creative, experimenting with a variety of materials to make their very own magic wand props. We will also offer face painting, for those wanting to add a bit of colour and sparkle to their day!

Join us for a treasure hunt
If you consider yourself to be a good detective, it’s time to put your skills to the test. Follow our exciting trail of clues and find out if you’ve got what it takes to find the hidden treasure. What better way to bring the family together?
Experience our lighting and sound stations
For those fascinated by technology, we are providing the opportunity to come and see our lighting and sound stations. Watch and learn as our skilled backstage staff share the tricks of the trade, before getting hands-on yourself, creating magic behind the scenes.

Watch an enchanting show and listen to wonderful music and singing
It wouldn’t be Play Opera LIVE without a brilliant performance! This one is all about Telor, a young man who has lost his magical shoes. Without them he is unable to sing or dance, which leaves him distraught. However, his friend Gwilym is determined to help Telor find them again. Together, the pair set off on an exciting adventure in search of the shoes, meeting all kinds of friends during their travels.
The performance is jam-packed with music, including Ian Stephens’ musical adaptation of the children’s book We’re Going on a Bear Hunt and O sole mio, most famously performed by Pavarotti. Also featured is Lacrimosa from Mozart’s Requiem, as well as the beautiful Flower Duet from the opera Lakmé. With these varied pieces and many more, we promise to dazzle audiences both young and old.
If you want to join in with the fun, come along to one of our shows in Cardiff, Southampton or Plymouth.
