WNO at the National Eisteddfod of Wales

3 August 2018

As part of this year’s National Eisteddfod of Wales, which takes place in the heart of Cardiff Bay, the home of Welsh National Opera – we will be hosting 3 events as part of the festival’s theatre and classical music fringe activity.

As part of an ongoing partnership with ‘Caffi’r theatrau’, WNO alongside other Welsh theatre organisations will take over Caffi Sio throughout the Eisteddfod week, with each company hosting an array of activities including performances and workshops on different days.  Do make sure that you look out for some of our WNO Chorus on Friday 10 August – you may stumble across a surprise performance…

The Eisteddfod has also launched a brand new programme called ENCORE with the aim of providing a stage for classical music.  As part of a series of workshops, performances and talks held at the Norwegian Church, Eisteddfod goers can come and enjoy a recital of classical Welsh repertoire by members of the WNO Chorus and Orchestra. In addition to this, WNO will also be hosting a Come & Sing session where you will be able to learn the Toreador Song from Carmen. No previous singing experience required – just come along, sing and enjoy!

All events are free of charge so please do come and say Shwmae.
