Meet WNO

Angharad Morgan

Soprano

Angharad trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, and Wales International Academy of Voice (WIAV) under the tutelage of Dennis O’Neil and Nuccia Focile. Whilst at WIAV she was mentored by Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, and she is currently tutored by international soprano Nuccia Focile.

Prior to joining WNO, Angharad was a Jerwood Young Artist at Glyndebourne Festival Opera where she performed the role of The Dew Fairy (Hansel und Gretel) and created the role of Ione in newly composed Opera Wakening Shadow. She has worked with Swansea City Opera, Opera Project, and as a freelance soloist has performed with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and other renowned orchestras.

Angharad’s personal highlights at WNO so far have been performing at the Royal Opera House, touring to Dubai, and performing the role of Marianne in Der Rosenkavalier.

Away from WNO, Angharad loves reading: 'I’m always carrying a book around with me. If you can’t find me I’m normally in a coffee shop with a hot chocolate and a good book.'
