HoWang Yuen

Born and raised in Hong Kong, baritone HoWang Michael Yuen obtained his BMusic at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. He later studied at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire for his MMusic in Vocal Performance, graduating with distinction. He has studied with Gwion Thomas, David Quah, Isabel Gentile, Roberto Abbondanza, Robin Bowman and Hsu Wei-en. Past engagements include Malatesta Don Pasquale, Papageno (cover) The Magic Flute, Lysander The Enchanted Island, Luther/Crespel The Tales of Hoffmann, Spinelloccio/Pinellino Gianni Schicchi and LiuHong The Monk of the River (Tête à Tête). In scenes productions he has also performed Sid Albert Herring, Pélleas Pélleas et Mélisande, Belcore The Elixir of Love, Hamlet Hamlet, Guglielmo Cosí fan tutte and Don Giovanni Don Giovanni. HoWang was also in the RBC Chamber Choir and is a founding member of award-winning vocal group Signo. He was also the conductor of Hong Kong based choral society The Greeners’ Sound.
