William Stevens
British bass William Stevens grew up in the town of Keynsham in Somerset and had his first professional singing experience as a choral scholar at Bristol Cathedral. He then went on to study singing at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama with Donald Maxwell. Roles include Figaro, Bartolo, and Antonio The Marriage of Figaro; Sarastro and The Speaker The Magic Flute; Leporello and Masetto Don Giovanni; Nick Shadow The Rake’s Progress; Superintendent Budd Albert Herring; Olin Blitch Susannah; Dulcamara L’elisir d’amore; Sir John Falstaff At The Boar’s Head; and numerous Gilbert and Sullivan roles. In concert, his repertoire includes major works by Handel, Mozart, Haydn, Brahms, and Shostakovich.
Recent engagements: Don Basilio Il barbiere di Siviglia (Cardiff Opera); Il Commendatore Don Giovanni (Hurn Court Opera); Cumbria Opera Festival; and the covers of Hagen Götterdämmerung, Fasolt Das Rheingold, and Colline La bohème (Longborough Festival Opera).
