Placing a fresh perspective on Verdi’s timeless masterpiece, Welsh National Opera’s brand-new production of Rigoletto opened the Autumn Season with as much powerful singing and masterful musicianship as we could muster.
After our opening night at Wales Millennium Centre, we caught up with our audience members on social media to hear what they thought about our new production.
On Instagram:
Crocker.wayne - We went on Saturday. I Ioved the Nixon staging but this new production was wonderful. Every scene disconcerting just how Verdi should be! Well done everyone!
Opera prima vista - Fantastic Rigoletto tonight!
On Facebook:
Deborah Hancock - This production is just FABULOUS. Don't miss it!
Stefan Račić - This was ridiculously good.
This tragic tale of hedonism and social decay returns to Cardiff for three more performances between 27 September – 4 October, before heading out on tour to Llandudno, Plymouth, Oxford and Southampton until 16 November.
