Daisy Evans’ reimagining of Mozart’s final opera, The Magic Flute, opened in Cardiff this Sunday. The vibrant new translation and colourful staging brought the old favourite of the opera world into the 21st century in an explosion of colour, and we’ve had a look online to see what our audiences thought of it.

We had some wonderful messages in our email inboxes from some visitors to the show
'My wife and I and our son and daughter in law came to the first performance of The Magic Flute on Sunday. Two of us are fairly experienced opera goers and two are not, though are musical and theatre goers. All of us thoroughly enjoyed it. It was engaging, fun and playful- qualities not always associated with opera. There were also some memorable singing.'
'We thoroughly enjoyed the production on Sunday. Refreshing, lively and fun. First visit to the Millenium Centre. The acoustics were excellent.'
Don't miss your chance to see The Magic Flute in Cardiff before it goes on tour to Llandudno, Milton Keynes, Bristol, Birmingham, Southampton and Plymouth as part of our Spring 2023 Season.
