
Adam Gilbert
Overview
Adam Gilbert is an English tenor based in Wales. He trained at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and the National Opera Studio and is a former Associate Artist of WNO (2022/2023). Originally a baritone, he sang with Glyndebourne, Scottish Opera, Wexford Festival Opera and Opera Holland Park before transitioning to tenor repertoire. With WNO, he has performed as Dad and Queen of Hearts in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Alfredo in La traviata and Emlyn in David Hackbridge Johnson’s Blaze of Glory! He has also covered the roles of Pinkerton (Madam Butterfly), Steva (Jenůfa) and Rodolfo (La bohème). This Season, he returns to WNO as Emlyn in Blaze of Glory!, also covering Erik in The Flying Dutchman.
