Alys Mererid Roberts

Welsh soprano Alys Mererid Roberts is from Criccieth. A Vice Chancellor’s scholar for music at Durham University,she went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music MA & Opera School. Roles include the title role in The Golden Cockerel (English Touring Opera); Gretel Hänsel and Gretel, Polly Peachum The Beggar’s Operaand Princess Puss in Boots (Mid Wales Opera); Chocholka and PepíkThe Cunning Little Vixen, Edith The Pirates of Penzance and Tweedledee in Will Todd’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (Opera Holland Park); and covered Slave Salome (English National Opera). 

Recent projects include Out of Her Mouth, a solo cantata series with Dunedin Consort, and a community folk-opera The Song of Home with Outland Opera in Dorset.
