
Alys Mererid Roberts
Welsh soprano Alys Mererid Roberts studied at Durham University and the Royal Academy of Music.
Recent appearances include: Soprano What Dreams May Come (ETO), Rachel Out Of Her Mouth (Dunedin Consort), Flute | Fairy One The Fairy Queen (Longborough Festival), title role The Golden Cockerel (ETO), Tiny Tim A Christmas Carol (Opera Holland Park), Gretel Hänsel und Gretel and Princess El Gato Con Botas (Mid Wales Opera). Other roles include Tweedle Dee Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Annina La traviata (Opera Holland Park), Polly Peachum The Beggar’s Opera and Shepherd Boy Tosca (Mid Wales Opera). On film, Alys has sung as Flora in The Turn of the Screw (Opera Glassworks). In concert, she has performed as a soloist for Dunedin Consort’s Easter performances of Bach’s St Matthew Passion. Her previous appearances for WNO include the role of Novice in Suor Angelica and Muse in Stephen McNeff’s opera-film Hedd Wyn.
