Angharad Lee

Angharad Lee was born and bred in Porth, in the Rhondda Valley. An award-winning, bilingual director whose career began as an actress and singer. As well as being a freelance director she is also Artistic Director of Leeway Productions, whose flagship production of The Last 5 Years saw her develop a brand-new theatrical language to critical acclaim with choreographer Mark Smith, and whose 10-minute musicals project has provided a platform for new creative partnerships to flourish across Wales. Charged with directing the opening ceremonies of the National Eisteddfod of Wales over the past few years (LLoergan, Y Tylwyth), her directing credits span through national large-scale productions to grass roots one person shows. She is also a lecturer at UWTSD Cardiff and the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and is passionate about creative learning and embedding creativity across the curriculum in Wales.
