
Angharad Lyddon
Overview
Mezzo-Soprano Angharad Lyddon is a graduate of the BMus, MA and Advanced Diploma in Opera courses at the Royal Academy of Music, London. Angharad made her professional début for English National Opera in 2015 as Kate in Pirates of Penzance. At ENO, she also sang the role of Daughter of Akhnaten in the 2019 revival of Phelim McDermott’s Olivier Award-winning production, Akhnaten. She has also understudied Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Perdita in The Winter’s Tale and Schoolboy, Dresser and Waiter in Lulu for the company. Angharad represented Wales in the 2019 BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition and was a Finalist in the Song Prize competition.
Recent engagements: Irene Tamerlano (The Grange Festival), Waltraute Götterdämmerung (Grimeborn Festival), Cherubino Le nozze di Figaro (West Green House Opera) and Handel’s Messiah at the Royal Albert Hall.
