Callum Thorpe

Callum Thorpe obtained a PhD in Immunology before focusing on vocal studies at the Royal Academy of Music. As a member of the solo ensemble at the Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, he performed Colline La bohème, Banco Macbeth, Pistola Falstaff, King of Egypt Aida, Zuniga Carmen, Truffaldin Ariadne auf Naxos and Masetto Don Giovanni. His concert repertoire ranges from Rameau and Bach Passions via Handel to the Mozart and Verdi Requiems, with conductors including Sir Mark Elder, Edward Gardner and Jonathan Cohen.

Current and recent highlights: Theodora (Teatro Real Madrid); Falstaff and Die Zauberflöte (Glyndebourne Festival); Sparafucile Rigoletto, Poacher The Cunning Little Vixen, Masque of Might, and Tosca (Opera North); Don Basilio Il barbiere di Siviglia (Garsington Opera); Weill Seven Deadly Sins with the London Philharmonic Orchestra; Aci, Galatea e Polifemo (London Handel Festival); and Oedipus Rex (Scottish Opera).
