Chen Reiss

Chen Reiss was born in Israel and came to prominence as an ensemble member of the Bavarian State Opera and as resident artist at the Vienna State Opera. During the 2023/2024 Season, Chen is Artist in Residence at the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. Recent highlights include concerts with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic, Munich Philharmonic, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and Tonhalle-Orchester Zurich, her debut with the National Symphony Orchestra of Washington DC, and recordings of Mahler’s Fourth Symphony with the Czech Philharmonic and Semyon Bychkov, Schreker’s Vom ewigen leben with Christoph Eschenbach and the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, and orchestral lieder and scenas of Fanny Hensel and Felix Mendelssohn with the Jewish Chamber Orchestra of Munich. 

Recent engagements: title role La Calisto (Teatro alla Scala), title role Zaide (Opera di Roma), Ginevra Ariodante (Royal Opera House), Liù Turandot (Israel Philharmonic Orchestra) and Zdenka Arabella (Vienna State Opera).
