Dafydd began learning the trombone at the age of 11, playing with every youth ensemble in the Carmarthenshire Music Service, later playing with the Three Counties and national youth ensembles. He then moved to Cardiff, where he studied for his undergraduate and master’s degrees at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. Prior to joining WNO, Dafydd freelanced with orchestras across the UK including BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
Away from WNO, Dafydd is an average (but enthusiastic) golfer and loves spending time with his two young children, regardless of sleep deprivation.
