Dean studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
Prior to joining WNO, Dean freelanced in Europe and the UK, including two summers in the Aix-en-Provence Festival Orchestra.
Dean’s personal highlight with WNO so far was playing Die Meistersinger at the BBC Proms: 'The orchestra sounded fantastic. The atmosphere in the Royal Albert Hall was electric.'
Away from WNO Dean supports Manchester United and his son Theo’s football team Sully Stallions, and enjoys cooking Italian food. Dean is married to Welsh singer Sian Meinir.
