Edward Dick

Edward Dick read English at Oxford then trained as a director with theatre company Cheek by Jowl. His work in opera includes Tosca (Opera North, TMA nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Opera, Opera Australia), Carmen and Hänsel und Gretel (Opera North); the premiere of Tarik O’Regan’s Heart of Darkness (ROH); the UK premiere of Rossini’s Maometto Secondo (Garsington); Un ballo in maschera (Volkstheater Rostock); La voix humaine (Cheltenham Festival); The Rape of Lucretia (Aldeburgh) and The Turn of the Screw (King’s Head). Theatre directing credits include A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Sydney Theatre Company);  The Pitchfork Disney (Arcola); The Fastest Clock in the Universe (Hampstead Theatre); Our Country’s Good (Liverpool Playhouse); Gaslight (Salisbury Playhouse); Fewer Emergencies (National Theatre, Prague); Twelfth Night (Open Air Theatre, Regent’s Park); Romeo and Juliet (Shakespeare’s Globe) and ‘Tis Pity She’s A Whore (Southwark Playhouse). Film and television projects include An Act of Love (BBC Films); That Woman (UKJF); Holby City, EastEnders; Silent Witness (BBC).
