
Elizabeth Llewellyn
Overview
Celebrated soprano Elizabeth Llewellyn was awarded an MBE in The Queen’s Birthday Honours 2022 for services to classical music. She has appeared as many of Verdi’s heroines including Aida, Luisa Miller, Alice Ford Falstaff, Desdemona Otello, and Amelia Grimaldi Simon Boccanegra. Highlights of the 2024/ 2025 season include her debut as Agathe Der Freischütz, Liebestod (Opera North), A Child of Our Time (Münchner Rundfunkorchester) and Shéhérazade (Teatro Maggio Musicale). Landmark roles include Elsa Lohengrin (Theater Magdeburg), Jenůfa Jenůfa (WNO), Ariadne Ariadne auf Naxos (Opera North), and Ellen Orford Peter Grimes (ENO). Elizabeth has also sung at leading opera houses such as Royal Danish Opera, Seattle Opera and The Metropolitan Opera.
Elizabeth has formed a recital partnership with renowned pianist Simon Lepper. They have performed together at Wigmore Hall, Edinburgh International Festival and Snape Maltings. Concert highlights have included the world-premiere of James MacMillan’s When Soft Voices Die at the First Night of the BBC Proms 2021 and the UK premiere of Martinsson’s Ich Denke Dein.
