Emily Rooke
Emily Rooke is a soprano studying as an Award Holder at the Royal College of Music, under the tutelage of Dinah Harris. Emily previously trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève and the Conservatorio di Musica. She was a Vocal Animateur Intern for WNO in 2019 and a British Youth Opera Serena Fenwick Young Artist 2020-2021. Past roles include Le Papillon L’enfant et les Sortilèges (VOPERA), Betly Betly (British Youth Opera Scenes) and Léonore Les Fêtes Vénitiennes (Liszt Akademia). Solo engagements include Bach’s Easter Oratorio (RCM), Mozart’s Requiem and Pergolesi’s Magnificat (Worcestershire Symphony Orchestra) and the 2021 Three Choirs Festival. She was a step-out soloist with the BBC National Chorus of Wales for Sir James MacMillan’s Seven Angels and for BBC television’s Wonders of the Celtic Deep. Emily also regularly performs lute song recitals and recently curated an RCM digital exhibition on the life and legacy of Dame Ethel Smyth.
