Finnegan Downie Dear

Conductor Finnegan Downie Dear was born in London and is based in Berlin. He studied Musicology at Cambridge, graduating with a Distinction, and later Piano at the Royal Academy of Music. This season he makes his debut at Garsington Opera with Der Rosenkavalier, as well as at Opera de Lyon with a new production of Billy Budd. Finnegan also returns to the Staatsoper Berlin for Don Giovanni and The Turn of the Screw.

Recent engagements: The Story of Billy Budd, Sailor (New Production, Aix-en-Provence Festival); The Magic Flute (ROH) and subscription concerts (Staatskapelle Dresden).
