Frederick Brown
Overview
Frederick Brown is a pianist and conductor from Cornwall. He is Chorus Master and a Staff Conductor at Welsh National Opera Cenedlaethol Cymru, for whom he has conducted performances of Will Todd’s Alice in Wonderland,The Magic Flute, Don Giovanni, Così fan tutte, The Marriage of Figaro, La traviata, The Barber of Seville and Tosca. He previously worked as a pianist at the Hamburg State Opera and also worked as Assistant Conductor for Iford Arts Festival (La traviata, 2013) and Buxton International Festival (Lucio Silla, 2017; Hamlet, 2025). In 2024, he travelled to the NCPA in Beijing to assist Carlo Rizzi on La fanciulla del West.
Frederick is also Music Director of the Welsh Camerata, and lives in Cardiff with his wife and young son.
