Germán Enrique Alcántara

Argentinean baritone Germán Enrique Alcántara is a graduate of the Royal Opera House’s Jette Parker Young Artist Programme and has performed as Count Almaviva in the new 2022 production of The Marriage of Figaro under Sir Antonio Pappano. In April 2024 he recorded Simon Boccanegra for Opera Rara and has also performed in concert in Manchester with The Hallé Orchestra, conducted by Sir Mark Elder. He has been awarded in many international singing competitions, including the Audience Prize at Tenor Viñas 2021 in Barcelona. Other leading roles include the title role of Don Giovanni (Tel Aviv, San Diego), Marcello La bohème (WNO), and Belcore L’elisir d’amore (Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires).

Recent engagements: Albert Werther in concert at Klangvokal Festival Dortmund, Enrico Lucia di Lammermoor at the Royal Opera House and Deutsche Oper Berlin.
