Overview
Grégoire Pont is a French illustrator and animator. His performance concept, ‘cinesthetics’, where he animates live to a musical performance, aims to make classical music more accessible. He has toured worldwide collaborating with conductors such as Kazushi Ono, Kent Nagano, Alexandre Bloch, Marko Letonja and François-Xavier Roth. Pont has received critical acclaim for his operatic work: Orff’s Der Mond, Ravel’s L’heure espagnole and L’enfant et les sortilèges in collaboration with director James Bonas for Opéra National de Lyon. He has also animated productions of Carmen with Orchestre National de Lille, Snow Queen at Opéra National du Rhin and Hänsel und Gretel at Cologne Opera. Pont also illustrates children’s books, notably Les Excalibrius, and has produced animations for television, educational shorts and music videos – most recently collaborating with ballet dancer My’Kal Stromile in New Studios’ Catch me.
