Helen studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester supported by the Eva Turner Scholarship and Dora Elizabeth Chappell entrance award.
After graduating, Helen joined the Glyndebourne Opera Chorus where she sang The Hostess Boris Godunov (Night Pieces) for their Jerwood project and covered many roles in their festivals and tours. Helen went on to make her debut for English National Opera at the age of 28 as Second Witch Dido and Aeneas (After Dido) and covered many major roles for the Company over the next couple of years.
In 2013 Helen joined WNO and since then her roles for the Company have included Rychtárka Jenůfa, Suzuki Madam Butterfly, the Mum/Mad Hatter Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Olga Eugene Onegin, Third Noble Orphan Der Rosenkavalier and Jewish Lady The Merchant of Venice which she performed at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
