
Helen studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, supported by an Annie Ridyard Scholarship and a Dora Elizabeth Chappell Entrance Award.
Helen began her career at Glyndebourne Festival Opera where she sang the role of The Hostess in Boris Godunov (Night Pieces) for their Jerwood Project. She made her debut for ENO at the age of 28 as Second Witch in After Dido (Dido & Aeneas) and covered many major roles for both ENO & Glyndebourne before joining WNO in 2013.
Helen has sung a multitude of roles for WNO, her most memorable being the Mad Hatter | Mum in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Olga in Eugene Onegin and Suzuki in Madam Butterfly, in which she was described by Opera Wire as displaying “Operatic Excellence”.
Helen is also passionate about wellness and teaches a local Hatha Yoga class as well as offering Yoga for singers and performing artists.
Recent engagements: Sheep 2 Candide, Mistress of Novices Suor Angelica (Il trittico), Opera Favourites Mezzo Soprano soloist, Flora La traviata (all WNO).
