Meet WNO

Helen Jarmany

Helen studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester supported by an Eva Turner Scholarship and Dora Elizabeth Chappell entrance award.

Prior to joining WNO Helen worked as a freelance opera singer working predominantly for Glyndebourne Festival Opera and English National Opera where she sang a number of roles and major covers.  She also worked extensively as an international concert singer.

Helen has had many highlights since joining WNO. One of her most memorable experiences was singing The Mum/Mad Hatter in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. ‘It was such an honour and joy to be able to create the magic of live musical theatre again after feeling starved of it throughout the pandemic.’ Other notable highlights include singing Olga Eugene Onegin and most recently Suzuki Madam Butterfly, both receiving critical acclaim.
