Helen studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester supported by an Eva Turner Scholarship and Dora Elizabeth Chappell entrance award.
Prior to joining WNO Helen worked as a freelance opera singer working predominantly for Glyndebourne Festival Opera and English National Opera where she sang a number of roles and major covers. She also worked extensively as an international concert singer.
Helen has many highlights since joining WNO but most notably performing at the Savonlinna Opera Festival which she describes as a ‘magical experience’ and her recent undertaking of the role of Olga in Eugene Onegin, which received critical acclaim.
Away from WNO Helen has recently become a mother and enjoys family life with her partner, daughter and dog. She is also a keen runner and yoga enthusiast.
