Whilst at school, Jonathan was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. He read Music at New College, Oxford before continuing his studies as a Postgraduate at the Royal College of Music with the flautist Sebastian Bell.
Prior to joining WNO, Jonathan spent seven years as a freelance player based in London working mainly with the London Sinfonietta, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and WNO.
Jonathan’s personal highlight at WNO so far has been working with Pierre Boulez on Pelléas et Mélisande.
Away from WNO, Jonathan enjoys sailing and sea kayaking around the coasts of Wales and Brittany. He also enjoys walking in the Lake District.
