Julian trained as a chef. He worked as a primary school teacher then secondary school music and drama teacher.
Julian won a scholarship for singing at University of Kent at Canterbury before studying for an Advanced Diploma (voice) at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. He is a Graduate of British Youth Opera and The Opera School (Wales).
As a freelance soloist, Julian has worked with London City Opera, Swansea City Opera and Opera Box.
Julian’s personal highlight with WNO so far was playing the Dog in The Cunning Little Vixen.
Away from WNO, Julian is a church organist, makes his own clothes and costumes, cooks, and organises concerts for charities with Volante Opera Productions.
