Julie Doyle
Julie is a CODA (native BSL user with Deaf parents) and has been freelance interpreting in Cardiff and beyond for 30 years, with a two-year adventure in New Zealand along the way. Her career has taken her from courtrooms to conferences, and from Welsh Parliament broadcasts to the rugby pitch. She is also a recipient of the Jackie Moore Memorial Award, as voted for by the South Wales Deaf Community in recognition of her service.
Theatre and performance are where Julie’s passion lies. She has interpreted at festivals, concerts and theatres across the UK, including for pantomimes, Shakespeare plays and outdoor community theatre, as well as at Glastonbury and the Royal Albert Hall. As a qualified teacher and assessor, she also teaches and mentors trainee interpreters and has presented at notable European and UK conferences.
