Kanchana Jaishankar

Mezzo/contralto Kanchana Jaishankar is from New Delhi. She is currently studying at the Royal Northern College of Music. She is funded by the Allan and Nesta Ferguson and the Waverley Fund Trusts. She is also the recipient of a Postgraduate Award from Help Musicians. Kanchana first started singing opera when her talent was recognised by Dr Robert Alderson. She hopes to advocate for South Asian representation in music and the arts both as a performer and a facilitator.
