
Kazuna Okada
Born in Tokyo, Kazuna Okada studied with Midori Minawa, Sarah Tynan and Gary Matthewman. Initially graduating with an undergraduate degree from Tokyo University of the Arts, she completed Masters degrees at both Royal College of Music and Wales Academy of Voice & Dramatic Arts. She is the 2019 winner of the Sogakudo Japanese Song Competition Youngest Prize. Opera roles have included Susanna The Marriage of Figaro, Despina Così fan tutte, Gretel and Sleeping Fairy Hänsel und Gretel. She also performed in Yuzuru (Nissay Theatre) in front of the Japanese Emperor in 2005. She joined the Berklee Summer project in Boston in 2017 and British Isles Music Festival in London. She has made annual appearances in the Roppongi Summer Concert in Japan every summer from 2012 to 2019. Kazuna is currently studying with Dennis O’Neill.
