Born in London, Kerem Hasan is one of Britain’s leading young conductors. He studied piano and conducting at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and at the Zurich University of the Arts with Johannes Schlaefli. Kerem was Chief Conductor of the Tiroler Symphonieorchester Innsbruck 2019 to 2023. In 2017, Kerem won the Nestlé and Salzburg Young Conductors Award, and was a finalist in the Donatella Flick LSO Conducting and was a WNO Associate Conductor 2019. Highlights of the 2024/2025 season included guest engagements with Danish National Symphony Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Dresdner Philharmonie, and Staatsorchester Stuttgart. Future invitations include conducting Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, Kymi Sinfonietta, PHION Orkest, and Tonkünstler-Orchester and the Orchestre symphonique de Québec.
Recent opera performances include: La Rondine (Opera North), Carmen and Così fan tutte (ENO), Die Zauberflöte (Glyndebourne).
