Laura Lolita Perešivana

Latvian-Ukrainian soprano Laura Lolita Perešivana is a rising talent on the international stage. She began her operatic journey at nineteen, covering Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi at the Latvian National Opera, and studied at the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Since joining the La Scala Young Artist Programme in 2023, Laura has made her mainstage debut in Simon Boccanegra. She has also appeared as Rosa The little sweep, Elena Il cappello di paglia di Firenze, and Modistin Der Rosenkavalier, and has covered Alice Ford Falstaff.

As a Young Artist at the National Opera Studio, Laura appeared on the stages of WNO, Scottish Opera, ENO and Opera North in roles such as Fiordiligi Così fan tutte, Thérèse Les Mamelles de Tirésias, Fiorilla Il turco in Italia, Marie La fille du régiment and Marie Wozzeck.

A frequent prize-winner, Laura has received Second Prize and the Audience Prize at the International Handel Singing Competition, Second Prize at the Vincerò Competition in Naples, the Leo Nucci Prize at the Magda Olivero Competition in Milan, Second Prize at the Kathleen Ferrier Awards, Fourth Prize at the Veronica Dunne Competition in Dublin, the Prince’s Prize in London, and a Special Prize for ‘profound musical expression’ at the Moniuszko Competition.

In the 25/26 Season, Laura returns to the Teatro alla Scala to sing Clotilde in Norma and takes on the title role in Anna A., a new opera by Silvia Colasanti.
