Lee David Bowen

Lee was born and brought up in Swansea, South Wales. He trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, originally as a baritone. However, while studying he moved into the tenor repertoire and now focuses on the Charaktertenor roles. Typical roles for Lee include: Herod Salome, Mime Das Rheingold and Siegfried, Dr Caius Falstaff and Aegisth Elektra. 

Recent engagements include: Graf Albert Die Tote Stadt and Mime Das Rhinegold (Longborough Festival), Guillot de Morfontaine Manon and Dr Caius Falstaff (English Touring Opera).

Lee also performed the role of Captain James Nolan in the British premiere of John Adams’ Dr Atomic for ENO.
