Lucie began learning the oboe at her local music service in West Berkshire and then went to the Purcell School of Music for her A levels where she studied with Melanie Ragge. She did her undergraduate with degree at the Royal Acadamy of Music and her Masters degree at the Royal College of Music which included an ERASMUS at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris.
Prior to joining WNO, Lucie was based in London and freelanced with various orchestras around the country.
Lucie’s personal highlights at WNO so far have included foreign tours, in particular to Finland playing Nabucco and Manon Lescaut at the Savonlinna Festival. She also particularly enjoyed playing Cav & Pag with Carlo Rizzi, Hansel & Gretel with Lothar Koenigs, and Tosca for Sir Bryn Terfel’s 50th birthday. Her orchestral highlight has been performing Mahler’s Symphony No 2 with WNO Music Director Tomáš Hanus.
Away from WNO, Lucie loves spending time in the kitchen cooking. She also enjoys running, yoga and travelling with her husband.
