Overview
Madeleine studied Theatre Design at Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design.
Recent production designs include: Le convenienze ed inconvenienze Teatrali (Wexford Festival Opera); G (Royal Court Theatre, London); My Fair Lady (co-production: Leeds Playhouse and Opera North); Gone Too Far (Theatre Royal Stratford East); Lady in the Dark (2022) and A Quiet Place (2018) (Opera Zuid, Maastricht) (both productions won the Place de L’Opera Award for Best Opera in their respective years); Lalla Roukh (Wexford Festival Opera) (winner of Best Costume in The Irish Times Theatre Awards); Powder Her Face (Royal Danish Opera) (winner of the Årets Reumert Prize for Best Opera Production); Albert Herring and L’Histoire du Soldat (Maggio Musicale, Florence); and The Donizetti Trilogy: Anna Bolena, Maria Stuarda and Roberto Devereux (WNO).
Future projects include production design for Le Nozze di Figaro (Opera North) and The Little Prince (Theater an der Wien).
