
Manon Edwards Ahir
Manon Edwards Ahir, Head of News, Media and Digital at the National Assembly for Wales since 2018.
Manon enjoyed a long career as a journalist and series producer at the BBC working in foreign affairs and newsgathering before specialising in politics. She spearheaded the BBC’s live election coverage in Wales during the first decade post devolution and is a BAFTA Cymru award winner.
She left the BBC to establish the bilingual communications agency Mela and, with her team, supported national companies and organisations on strategic and creative campaigns across Wales and beyond. A fluent Welsh speaker, Manon has been a champion of bilingual communications and with Mela trialled approaches for successful bilingual campaigns.
During this time, Manon also joined Cardiff University as a Journalism and Communications Lecturer at the School of Journalism, Media and Culture.
Manon has previously been a Board Member for Cardiff Dance Festival and Yr Hen Lyfrgell, Cardiff’s Welsh Language Centre.
