Matteo Macchioni was born in Sassuolo, near Modena, and studied music from a young age. In 2008 he became the youngest ever tenor to reach the finals of the Pavarotti International Singing Competition. Following success on the Italian television casting show Amici, Macchioni appeared on the shows Mozart a modo mio in 2012 and Wagner a modo mio in 2013. He has sung the role of Don Ramiro in Leipzig and Florence.
