Mica Liberta-Smith
Mica is a non-binary baritone living in Cardiff. While studying at RWCMD, Mica was Joint Winner Adelina Patti Bel Canto Singing Prize (2020) and Janet Price Opera Prize finalist (2021), also gaining an MA in Advanced Opera Performance from RWCMD’s David Seligman Opera School in July 2022. Mica is now developing a career as an operatic, recital and choral soloist. Recent roles include Marcello (La bohème), New Aquarian Opera; Collatinus (ROL), British Youth Opera; Alidoro (La Cenerentola), Barn Opera, Vermont USA; Colline (La bohème), Opera al Mare, Italy; R&D projects, Unlimited; and Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro), Debut Opera. Mica is delighted to be part of this wonderful celebration of WNO Youth Opera having previously performed with the company as Drebyednyetsov in Shostakovich’s Cherry Town, Moscow and as Count Heinrich in Judith Weir’s Black Spider.
