
Mica Smith
Mica graduated from the David Seligman Opera School, Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama with an MA in Advanced Opera Performance. Mica has performed many operatic roles including Count Heinrich The Black Spider (WNO Youth Opera); Belcore The Elixir of Love (Guildford Opera); Sciarrone Tosca (Athenaeum Opera); Figaro The Marriage of Figaro; Sam Worlitzer Happy End (RWCMD) and opera scenes with British Youth Opera, National Opera Studio and Morley Opera. Mica’s recent highlights include Germond’s aria for RWCMD’s 70th Anniversary Opera Gala at Wales Millennium Centre with WNO Orchestra under Maestro Carlo Rizzi and the Adelina Patti Prize-winner’s Concert. Mica’s awards include The RC Sherriff Trust’s Young Musician of 2018; Gil-Rodriguez scholarship (Opéra de Baugé, France, 2019) and the Badoer Dalla Rizza scholarship (Arte Lirica Festival, Italy, 2019). Mica’s RWCMD studies were supported by a John Rath and John Underwood Scholarship, an Underwood-Rath Scholarship, and Jenkin-Phillips Scholarship (2022).
