Meet WNO

Morgana Warren-Jones

Morgana recently won both the Frederic Cox Award for Singing and the Kennedy Strauss Award competitions at the Royal Northern College of Music where she is a scholarship student on the Postgraduate Diploma course, under the tutelage of Hilary Summers. Born in Bangor, she previously read Music at the University of Leeds and studied voice at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg. Whilst at the RNCM, Morgana performed Marcellina The Marriage of Figaro, Medoro Orlando and Mercédès Carmen. Morgana recently performed Mahler’s Rückert-Lieder at St Asaph Cathedral (NEW Sinfonia) and will perform a concert of song repertoire for Leeds Lieder in November. Morgana was a Young Artist at the Buxton International Festival, was a Serena Fenwick Young Artist, a member of the Glyndebourne Academy and took part in the Opera North Chorus mentoring programme. Morgana conducts a community choir in Eccles and leads workshops for WNO. Morgana’s studies are generously supported by Help Musicians UK and the Annie Ridyard Scholarship for Mezzo-Sopranos
