
Owain Rowlands
Carmarthenshire-born baritone Owain Rowlands studied Mathematics and Music at Cardiff University, before his master’s degree in Performance at the Royal Academy of Music. Most recently, he trained at the David Seligman Opera School at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama (RWCMD).
Owain’s highlights include playing the title role in RWCMD’s productions of Don Giovanni, performing at WNO’s annual Opera Gala and representing Wales at Expo 2025 in Japan as the Cultural International Ambassador for the Urdd and RWCMD.
Owain’s success in competitions include being a finalist in the Sir Bryn Terfel Scholarship competition, Pendine International Voice of the Future at Llangollen Eisteddfod and Dunraven Young Singer of the Year. He was also previously the winner of Llais Llwyfan Llanbed, London Welsh Young Singer Competition, the W Towyn Roberts Scholarship prize and the Sir Ian Stoutzker Prize.
