Paul Carey Jones
Baritone Paul Carey Jones was born and raised in Cardiff. A fluent Welsh speaker, he studied at Ysgol Gymraeg Melin Gruffydd, Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf, the Royal Academy of Music and the National Opera Studio. He was winner of the 2013 Wagner Society Singing Competition and was recently elected an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music in recognition of his contribution to the classical music industry. His operatic work includes appearances as a principal guest artist for major opera companies across the UK and Europe; he has appeared extensively as Wotan in Wagner’s Ring cycle, most recently for Longborough Festival Opera, and has previously appeared for WNO’s as Dr Schön in Berg’s Lulu. Paul is a committed advocate of contemporary music, in particular by Welsh composers, and his discography includes three solo albums.
