Rebecca studied at the Escuela de música Fama in Madrid from 2000-2006.
Prior to joining WNO, Rebecca spent seven years freelancing in and around London and the UK with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, English National Opera, English National Ballet, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Royal Northern Sinfonia, and the orchestra of the Royal Opera House. She also taught the violin at various schools including Junior Guildhall.
Rebecca’s personal highlight at WNO so far has been the tour to Savonlinna in Finland shortly after joining the Company: 'playing Verdi and Puccini in a fairytale castle on an island on a lake in the sunshine was really special.' But she also appreciates the musical connections made with her colleagues: 'Every single show we play, each rehearsal - there are always moments of subtle interaction with the musicians around me that I feel privileged to be part of every day.'
Away from WNO, Rebecca teaches the violin at the junior Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and is also outreach mentor for the string department: 'I love working with children and students and getting shiny new people into classical music!' Rebecca is also a certified Zen Yoga teacher and has run Nomad Yoga for the last few years, bringing lots of people from different sections of the Company who may not often cross paths together for weekly classes at WNO.
